This cute little bike was a snap to assemble, and my daughter loves it. The steering handle is what drew me to it, and it works like a charm (until she gets away from me)! My daughter is 4 and very tall for her age, so unfortunately she won't get much out of this bike. I already have the seat as high as it can go, and I'm sure it won't be long before I'm wishing I could raise it. At least we'll get some training on it in before she moves up to her brother's bike and then we'll donate/hand down this one. I wouldn't buy for anyone over 3 or else like us, you won't get enough time out of it.

Bought this bike for my 3 year old daughter and it's great! The handle on the back actually turns the bike, which I didn't read anywhere on the description when I purchased it. Also, my husband and I are tall, so we installed the handle backwards so we don't have to hunch over, it's perfect. Good quality, used it 3x so far and happy with the purchase.

From the get-go, I knew that this would be a great hit for my daughter! The item came all intact without any issues. The packaged box it came in had a picture of the item, so she (daughter: Age 3) knew what it was. She was so excited - she said to my wife, "This is my bicycle!"

Great price and great buy!

Product Description

Bicycles are a terrific mode of transportation, but sometimes you just need a little extra push while getting around town. Enter the eZip Trailz men's electric comfort bike, which is equipped with a 450-watt DC earth magnet motor and a 24-volt rechargeable battery. Far cleaner than gas-powered scooters but zippier than a traditional bike, the Trailz will get you from point A to B in no time at all, but won't guzzle gas or belch pollutants in the process. The battery offers a range of 15 to 22 miles per charge, so you can make it back and forth to the grocery store several times without running low on power. And once you're on the road, the Trailz boasts a top speed of 15 miles per hour (contingent on the rider weight)-plenty fast enough for most bike-friendly city streets. Is your work commute too far to walk but close enough that a car seems wasteful? Turn to the Trailz, which comes with a rear rack to carry groceries and other gear.

Overall

Great bike for the price. Improvements would be increased quality control on batteries and chargers, upgrading handlebar, and redesigning the battery terminals.

Buy it. It works fine for what it is.

Pros

- Great value for an electric assist bike. Paid for itself in commuting savings not to mention health benefits.
- Comfortable ride (thicker tires help)
- Surprisingly quiet motor
- Having both Pedal Assist and Twist features is nice

Cons

-Battery replaced in two weeks (warranty replacement plus shipping charge) - $25
-Charger replaced in four months - $40
-Battery terminal 1 replaced in five months - $20 (part only)
-Battery terminal 2 replaced in 11 months - $20 (part only)

4.0 out of 5 stars My first e-bike, May 14, 2011
By
Daniel Zuber (Smartville, CA, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Currie Technologies eZip Men's Trailz Electric Bicycle (Sports)
I actually bought this bike from Walmart.com to save on shipping costs. I have had it for 2 months now. I have to say that for the price it is probably the best e-bike you can buy. My first real test for my bike was a sponsored event called 'Bike Around The Buttes'. A forty mile ride with a few hills but mostly flat. I had 2 batteries for this trip. I pedaled at a moderate pace (12-15 mph) in battery assist mode. I was very nervous because I did not think the batteries would last that long. Surprise, the first battery went twenty miles. good thing too because the batteries lasted a whole lot longer than my legs did (I am 65 and about 60 lbs over weight :-). The second battery went about 18 miles. I had forgot to charge it up the night before so it had a short trip to work and back on it. fortunately the first battery had partially come back to life and it brought me the rest of the way to the finish. I was still able to maintain about 12 mph.

4.0 out of 5 stars Won't go back to a regular bike., August 1, 2011
This review is from: Currie Technologies eZip Men's Trailz Electric Bicycle (Sports)
I have owned my eZip Trailz for a year now. I put on about 500 miles on it. I have found that for me an electric bike is the best, environmentally-friendly mode of short range transportation for commuting and pleasure. I have found that many on the market are too expensive and don't come with a free test ride. There are even some upwards of $1,000 that come with SLA batteries.

Pros:
+ affordable entry-level electric bicycle
+ reduction in carbon footprint
+ minimal sweat after a ride; longer distance achieved with same amount of effort as a non-electric bike. (This is the primary reason anyone would get an ebike, right?)
+ convenient battery lock and disconnection
+ free bicycle parking when commuting to work in the downtown zone
+ pedestrians and other bicyclists see you and whisper to each other "hey, that's an electric bike!"
+ torquey 450 watt motor
+ quiet operation
+ brakes and other components are more heavy duty in... Read more

Useful Information On Sports Arbitrage

Useful Information On Sports Arbitrage

Sports arbitrage refers to the idea of making a definite profit from a variation in odds between sports books.Usually, backing all results of a particular sporting event at a particular bookmaker would lead to a person guaranteeing a small percentage of loss referred to as the bookmaker's margin.Nonetheless, if one takes the best competing chances from various bookmakers, it is likely to make guaranteed loss turn into a guaranteed profit. It can be assumed that most individuals practice sports betting arbitrage to increase their income part time.A person ought to be in a position to make between five and ten percent on his capital each month. This does not even include any extra cash an individual may make by using any bonuses or free bets. However, prior to a person beginning to bet it is usually prudent to spend time practicing. This will help to ensure the person knows what he is doing and that he is confident on procedure. If a person has say $10000 to invest then he should not be too anxious about making all of the $10000 work for him straight away. So, someone wishing to engage in sports betting must first practice with little amounts.A person should see how long it takes him from receiving his alert or finding his opportunity, to placing his bet.One ought to make notes on any troubles that took much more time than anticipated. Many bookmakers give first time betters a sign-up bonus of $10 to $200 for placing an initial amount. They normally require that this sum is wagered a certain number of times prior to the bonus being withdrawn.Bonus arbitraging is a type of sports arbitraging where an individual hedges or backs his bets as usual. However, since one obtained the bonus, a little loss may be permitted on each wager, which comes off the profit. This way, the sports bookmakers wagering requirement may be met. Also the initial sign up bonus and deposit may be withdrawn with modest losses. This form of betting is more advantageous than typical betting arbitrage. This is because it is much simpler to find bets with a tolerable loss, rather than an actual profit. As most bookmakers provide these bonuses this could potentially be taken advantage of to reap the sign up bonuses. It is possible to turn bets into cash pretty fast by signing up to several bookmakers. This will ensure one either makes a small arbitrage or a small loss on each bet.Nonetheless, it is rather time consuming to get close matched arbs or bets, which is where a close matched bet or arb service is useful. In addition to spending plenty of time actually matching odds from several betting sites to exchanges, the other disadvantage with arbitrage trading is that usually the free bets are cannot be returned. This in fact reduces the chances, in decimal format, by one. Thus, so as to cut losses on the free bets, it is essential to place bets with high odds to minimize the percentage difference of the reduction in odds.

The Biggest Elephant Ear in the World - Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain

The Biggest Elephant Ear in the World - Colocasia Gigantea Thailand Giant Strain

When was Thailand Giant Strain discovered?Colocasia gigantea Thailand Giant Strain was discovered in 2003 by former Plant Delights research manager Dr.Petra Schmidt.Petra is an aroid expert who PDN owner Tony Avent sent over to southeast Asia on a plant collecting expedition (See a list of PDNs plant expeditions here).Petra toured Laos, and Thailand and kept her eyes peeled for anything new and awesome. And boy did she ever hit pay dirt! While in Kanchanaburi Province, a local guide took her to an absolutely huge Colocasia gigantea specimen growing in a national park.As you can see from the picture, the plant was larger than the minivan that Petra was traveling in!Petra collected seed off of the plant and the seedlings became the basis for the plant we have on the market today. The seedlings are all slightly different, but they are all much larger than average. That is why we call it ThailandGiant Strain instead of giving it some cultivar name. The plants are not clones. How big will it grow?Colocasia gigantea Thailand Giant Strain is marginally hardy in our Raleigh, NC garden. It goes dormant at the first sign of cold weather in the fall and it stays dormant until the following summer. The plant does not wake up until it is very very hot.Which is usually July for us.It grows quite quickly and by late September is approaching its maximum size in our garden.Ours tops out at about 6' tall, but the leaves are each gigantic and can easily be 3' wide and 4.5' long. Our short warm season greatly limits its ultimate size. This plant will grow much larger in the semi-tropical states of the US where it feels more like its homeland of Thailand. In its natural home, the parent of our seed strain grew well over 9' tall.Truly monstrous! How do we care for Thailand Giant.Colocasia gigantea Thailand Giant Strain is a solid zone 8 plant.Raleigh is in zone 7b and therefore we have to take steps to protect our plant during the winter. The following list is a highlight of our efforts..We plant our Thailand Giant in a spot that stays dry in the winter.A moist spot will promote winter rot.In the late summer or fall we dig up the plant and re-plant it deeper. We have recently learned that Colocasias tend to move up in the soil profile over time.We need to counter this so that the crown does not freeze. In the fall, we remove the dead foliage and pile a mound of shredded leaves on top of the bulb for insulation. In the late spring, we remove the shredded leaves so that the ground does not stay too moist.During the summer we keep the soil evenly moist but not soaking wet.Unlike C.Esculenta which likes wet feet, C.Gigantea does not.

An Unforgettable Tuscan Summer

An Unforgettable Tuscan Summer

A Tuscan summer is a time you'll never forget. While beautiful year-round, this region of Italy becomes utterly gorgeous under the summer sun, with stunningly vibrant colours - dark green cypress trees, dark brown olive groves, the bright green of verdant vineyards, the nearly blinding yellow of fields of sunflowers, the pristine white sand of its beaches, and the impossibly blue sky and ocean waters.Truly, this region is a paradise for artists, photographers, and nature lovers alike. And let's not forget the foodies! With so many fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs in season, the cuisine is simply incomparable.[Be sure to sample the fresh tomatoes, which are among the best in the world, and part of nearly every meal.].Visited by millions of holiday-goers during this season, finding the perfect accommodations can be challenging if you intend to visit Tuscany.Villas, fortunately, are available all over the region, and serve as the starting point for your travels through Tuscany.Villas, as examples of local residential architecture are a perfect introduction to local life, providing a backdrop for local craftsmanship and the amazing scenery. In Tuscany, villas are built to suit the climate.Shaded by hillsides or beautiful olive groves and with views of the gorgeous countryside, it's quite tempting to just stay in and relax with a great bottle of Chianti. However, you'd be missing out on of lots of great sites and attractions, some of which are only held during the summer.Listed below are some of the can't-be-missed summer attractions in Tuscany.Villas can always be enjoyed later.Il Palio di Siena.Il Palio di Siena, one of Tuscany's most spectacular bi-annual events, is a horse race held on the 2nd of July and 16th of August in Siena in honour of the Virgin Mary.Preceded by a magnificent pageant, the Corteo Storico, the race itself features jockeys riding bareback around the Piazza del Campo three times, navigating treacherous turns on dirt tracks.Usually lasting no more than 90 seconds, jockeys and horses tear through the track, hell-bent on victory.Unlike normal races, only the horse needs to cross the finish line in this race as jockeys often become unseated due to the breakneck speed of the race.James Bond fans may be interested to learn that the Palio was featured in the 2008 film, Quantum of Solace.Festa di San Giovanni. The Festa di San Giovanni is celebrated in Florence on the 24th of June to honour its patron saint, San Giovanni Battista, otherwise known as St.John the Baptist.Drawing both faithful and merely curious from all over the world, this celebration comprises many events, including a traditional parade through the centre of Florence, an often-hilarious Calcio Storico (medieval football) match in Piazza di Santa Croce, and, later in the evening, a spectacular fireworks display over the Piazzale Michelangelo on the Arno River.During the festival, stalls sell pork roasted with herbs, snails, and other local delicacies--a definite treat for foodies!Mercantia.Mercantia, which has been described as a medieval theatre, is the most symbolic cultural festival in Certaldo and in the Tuscan region.Famous for its originality and peculiarity of its form, it has been held every year since 1988.For five nights in July, the streets of Certaldo Alto are taken over by a medieval village. In this amazing performance arts event, actors, magicians, minstrels, jesters, and all sorts of performers come together to entertain and provide a glimpse of medieval life.Visitors are encouraged to don costumes and join the fun.
